In recent times, the utilisation of marine composites in tubular structures has grown popularity. These applications include composite risers and related SURF (subsea umbilicals, flowlines) units. The industry evolved development advanced composites, such as thermoplastic pipes (TCP) hybrid structures. However, there are gaps understanding its performance risers, hence need for this review on design, hydrodynamics mechanics risers. covers both structure production riser (CPR) end-fittings offshore applications. It also reviews mechanical behaviour their microstructure strength/stress profiles. principle, designers now have a greater grasp materials. was concluded that differ from standard materials steel. Basically, weight savings comparative stiffness-to-strength ratio, which advantageous composites. Also, sector response to newer innovations thereby providing new cost-effective techniques. This comprehensive shows necessity optimising existing designs Conclusions drawn portray issues facing research.
